Maa Mansadevi

Maa Mansadevi Udankhatola was commissioned on 21 May 1983, as a pioneer passenger ropeway project of Usha Breco Limited in collaboration with British Ropeway Eng. Co., UK.

Maa Mansadevi Udan Khatola is located on the foothills of Shivalik range, which is a part of the famous Rajaji National Park .It is at a distance of just 0.5 km from Har-Ki-Pauri.  The devotees can easily reach the hilltop temple by Udan Khatola in just 3 min., whereas the steep climb takes about 45 min. While traveling by Udan Khatola devotees can have a beautiful and panoramic view of city of Hardwar alongside majestic Ganga. Adding on to the flavor is the view of the lush green Rajaji National Park, which came into existence in the year 1983 and is famous for it’s elephants

Mansadevi Ropeway is probably the first of its kind in India, used for transportation of pilgrims to this capacity (800 passenger per hour). The opening of this ropeway was a big news in small town of about one lakh population. Eversince then, Mansadevi ropeway has been focus of local attention and talk of the town.
In past more than 28 years, millions of people have been transported by the ropeway, probably this could be a record of its kind. In nutshell it would be right to say that Mansadevi Ropeway has provided a cradle for passenger ropeway operations in the country


Maa Mansadevi temple : Maa Mansa Devi – The Wish Fulfilling Goddess” Maa Mansa Devi Siddhapeeth is situated at the top of Bilwa Parvat of Shivalik hills to the west of Ganga. Maa Mansa Devi is believed to be born from the mind of Saint Kashyap hence called Maa Mansa Devi, the wish fulfilling Goddess. Here, one statue of the Goddess has eighteen arms while the other statue has five mouths and ten arms. The devotees after making a wish tie threads on a sacred kachnaar tree in the temple premises and after the fulfillment of their wishes they visit again to untie the threads. Lakhs of devotees visit the temple for wish fulfillments every year. Maa Mansa Devi has been fulfilling wishes of her devotees since time immemorial. The ever-growing faith of people is the testimony of the power of Maa Mansadevi .
